Avalanche's blockchain has seen a significant increase in activity following the Web3 launch of classic game MapleStory, surpassing 1 million daily transactions twice in one week. This achievement occurred on June 1 and June 7, marking the highest levels of activity since February 2024. In the week beginning June 2, total transactions reached 5.8 million, propelled by the release of MapleStory Universe on May 15. Before this launch, daily transactions rarely exceeded 500,000 in 2025. The game, developed by South Korean gaming giant Nexon, has reignited interest in the Avalanche network. Despite the excitement surrounding the gaming ecosystem, the Nexpace Coin (NXPC), the virtual currency introduced with MapleStory Universe, has seen a 64% decline since its all-time high shortly after launch. In parallel, Avalanche has been gaining traction in Web3 gaming since late 2024, buoyed by new titles aiming to attract mainstream gamers rather than just crypto enthusiasts. This renewed interest has impacted the trading value of Avalanche's native token, AVAX, which has also dropped significantly since its peak.
