Avraham Eisenberg, known for exploiting the now-defunct decentralized finance protocol Mango Markets to steal $110 million, received a 52-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to possessing child sexual abuse material in 2024. His prior conviction involved wire fraud and commodities manipulation related to the Mango Markets theft. During the hearing, Judge Arun Subramanian indicated a possible retrial for the fraud charges. Prosecutors sought a 6.5 to 8-year sentence, emphasizing the seriousness of his crimes, which included downloading 1,274 explicit images and videos of children. Eisenberg's defense blamed his strict religious upbringing and his struggles with social norms for his actions. Upon release, he will be subject to probation with strict conditions, including monitoring software on devices and participation in a drug outpatient program.
