Litecoin ETF has 90% chance to get SEC approval in 2025: Analysts
Bloomberg ETF analysts predict a 90% chance of a US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approval for a spot Litecoin ETF by the end of 2025. Analysts James Seyffart and Eric Balchunas believe that Litecoin has a clearer path to SEC approval than other proposed ETFs, including those for XRP, Solana, and Dogecoin, which they estimate have approval probabilities of 65%, 70%, and 75%, respectively. Litecoin, introduced in 2011 as a faster alternative to Bitcoin, shares similar features and regulatory classification as a commodity. The SEC's decision on various crypto ETFs is expected between October 2 and 18, 2025, with a possible launch for Litecoin ahead of this timeframe. Despite low expectations for high demand, it could still benefit fund companies. Additionally, further regulatory clarity is needed for XRP and Solana before their ETFs can be considered.
