Law firm suing Pump.fun demands platform remove tokens using its IP
Burwick Law and Wolf Popper have issued a cease and desist letter to Pump.fun, citing the unauthorized use of their names and logos on various tokens, including the token Dog Shit Going NoWhere (DOGSHIT2). The law firms demand the immediate removal of these tokens that allegedly impersonate them and their clients. The cease and desist letter claims that Pump.fun has the capability to remove the infringing content but has not done so, posing legal risks to the public. Furthermore, the letter accuses Pump.fun of collaborating with third parties to intimidate clients involved in ongoing litigation. Burwick Law and Wolf Popper have filed a lawsuit against Pump.fun, alleging that the platform's tokens are unregistered securities linked to significant investor losses, with the case filed in a New York federal court. The lawsuit seeks rescission of token purchases and monetary damages for affected investors, all against the backdrop of a surge in Pump.fun's trading volume generated by recent token launches related to the Trump family.
