KYC Uniswap integration deployed by PureFi, but not everyone is convinced
PureFi has launched a Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) integration for the Uniswap decentralized exchange (DEX), utilizing a zero-knowledge proof (ZK-proof) compliance protocol. This integration is designed to enhance security and compliance without compromising financial privacy. The setup allows for varying levels of verification based on transaction volumes, ranging from basic checks at low volumes to comprehensive KYC and real-time monitoring at high volumes. However, some industry experts, like Hedi Navazan from 1inch Labs, are skeptical of relying solely on transaction volume thresholds for compliance, highlighting that a more nuanced risk assessment is needed in DeFi. PureFi's CEO, Slava Demchuk, emphasized the importance of addressing compliance within smart contracts to prevent vulnerabilities due to interface bypassing. The new system is currently operational for the UFI/BNB trading pair and is intended to adapt to evolving regulations.
