Kraken rolls out ETF and stock access for US crypto traders
Kraken has expanded its offerings beyond cryptocurrencies by introducing trading for US-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). This initiative targets traditional investors, providing access to 11,000 stocks and ETFs with commission-free trading. Currently, users in select states, including New Jersey and Connecticut, can engage in this trading through their Kraken accounts, as part of a phased national rollout plan. The move comes at a time when both traditional and crypto markets have experienced significant downturns, emphasizing the rising demand for a unified trading platform encompassed by both digital and traditional asset classes. Arjun Sethi, co-CEO of Kraken, views this expansion as a vital step toward integrating real-world assets into a blockchain-powered trading system, catering to clients seeking around-the-clock access to various investment opportunities. Kraken also plans to extend its stock trading services to international markets, including Europe, the UK, and Australia.
