Kraken adds forex perpetual futures contracts to its Pro platform
On April 18, 2025, Kraken announced the introduction of foreign exchange (forex) perpetual futures contracts on its Kraken Pro platform. This move allows traders to have greater access to global currency markets. The initial offerings include contracts for the euro-US dollar (EUR-USD) and the British pound-US dollar (GBP-USD), both of which come with 20x leverage and no expiration dates. Unlike traditional futures contracts that require rolling or settling by certain deadlines, these perpetual contracts offer more flexibility. Kraken's initiative is part of a broader strategy to merge digital assets with conventional financial products, reflecting a trend within the cryptocurrency industry. The exchange also previously expanded its offerings by providing access to various currency pairs and is looking forward to closing a deal to enhance its futures trading capabilities for US residents. Furthermore, Kraken is exploring an initial public offering (IPO) expected in early 2026, highlighting its growth and potential in the market.
