Weeks prior, he changed his name and got a new passport. Gurevich allegedly drained $2.89 million from the bridge, prompting a wave of copycat attacks that led to a total loss of $190 million. Following the exploit's spread, he attempted communication with Nomad’s CTO, returning a small portion of the stolen funds and asking for a bounty. The U.S. has charged him with various offenses, including money laundering and computer intrusion. The Nomad exploit, highlighted as one of the most significant hacks in recent years, left the bridge's reserves nearly depleted, leading to a swift call for action and eventual apprehension by Israeli authorities as per a U.S. extradition request.
