Semler Scientific, a Nasdaq-listed healthcare technology firm, has invested $20 million in 185 Bitcoin, marking its eighth acquisition this year. The company now holds approximately 4,450 BTC, valued at nearly $472 million, making it the 14th largest corporate holder of Bitcoin. Semler began accumulating Bitcoin to utilize excess cash while also continuing to develop healthcare technology products, emulating strategies used by firms like Strategy, which first adopted a Bitcoin treasury strategy in 2020. Semler has launched a $500 million offering program and issued 3.5 million shares to fund its Bitcoin purchases, raising a total of $136 million to date. Other firms are similarly adopting Bitcoin acquisition strategies, likely inspired by the success of Strategy.
