Hacking group ‘Dark Storm’ claims responsibility for DDoS attack on X
A Russian-backed hacking group, Dark Storm, has claimed responsibility for a significant DDoS attack on the social media platform X, leading to nearly 40,000 users being unable to access the site. Cybersecurity group SpyoSecure reported that Dark Storm announced their actions via Telegram. Their leader stated that the attack was a demonstration of strength rather than a politically motivated action. Elon Musk, the platform's owner, mentioned that the hackers' IP addresses appeared to originate from the Ukraine area. This incident took place amidst other tensions, including protests against Tesla's government initiatives, which have also impacted Tesla's stock performance. While user functionality was quickly restored, this is not the first time X has faced such an attack, having experienced similar incidents in the past.
