Grayscale files S-3 for Digital Large Cap ETF
Grayscale has submitted an S-3 regulatory filing to the US SEC to list the Grayscale Digital Large Cap Fund as an exchange-traded fund (ETF). This fund, established in 2018, is currently not traded on exchanges and holds a diversified portfolio of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Ripple, and Cardano. As of April 1, it boasts over $600 million in assets under management and is only accessible to accredited investors. This move follows a request from NYSE Arca seeking permission to list the Grayscale index fund. The filing reflects a trend where ETF issuers are ramping up crypto product launches, particularly as US regulatory attitudes towards digital assets soften. Analysts highlight that crypto index ETFs have become a primary focus for Wall Street, mirroring the traditional finance model where investors participate in broad market indices through ETFs.
