The Supreme Court of Gibraltar has lifted a two-month freeze on 542 million PLAY tokens, due to insufficient evidence justifying the seizure. The freeze was initially enforced during a legal dispute between US-based Ready Makers, operating as Ready Games, and its Gibraltar-based subsidiary, Ready Maker, regarding control of the company and its tokens. Judge John Restano stated that keeping the tokens frozen could harm their value and criticized the evidence presented by Ready Games as unimpressive. Following the April 17 ruling, Ready Games announced plans to appeal, asserting that the Gibraltar firm was in an alarming situation and that its founder had wrongfully seized control. The tokens represent nearly two-thirds of the total PLAY supply, which has seen a drastic price decline since its launch in December.
