Getting crypto out of the 'AOL era' — Sandeep Nailwal
Crypto is still years away from mainstream mass adoption, likened to the 'AOL era' of the late 1990s, according to Polygon's co-founder Sandeep Nailwal. In an interview, he emphasized significant improvements needed in user experience, including seamless fiat on-ramps, better custody solutions, and integrated hardware wallets. Nailwal noted we remain in a 'dial-up' phase of crypto, with core financial use cases yet to be fully developed. He predicted it would take at least 10 to 15 years for crypto to reach its full potential. He highlighted that only about 3% of Bitcoin's total adoption path has been realized, indicating that the industry still faces significant growth and development challenges ahead.
