The father of a crypto millionaire was rescued by French police following his abduction in Paris. The incident, which occurred on Thursday morning in the city’s 14th arrondissement, involved the victim being forced into a delivery van by four masked men. Days later, in a police operation in the Essonne region, authorities found the victim at a rental property and arrested five suspects. The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of between €5 million and €7 million in cryptocurrency after reportedly severing one of the victim's fingers. The victim is associated with a crypto marketing firm registered in Malta with his son, who is the millionaire in question. This kidnapping marks the third crypto-related abduction in France this year, following another case involving the co-founder of a cryptocurrency wallet company. Experts highlight that these violent extortion attempts are a growing trend, linked to the rising prominence of cryptocurrencies.
