Exclusive: VanEck Ventures leads round for real estate tokenization firm Manifest
Manifest, a firm focused on integrating US private equity real estate with blockchain technology, has successfully raised $2.5 million in a funding round led by VanEck Ventures, with contributions from Compound, Lattice Fund, and SALT. CEO Nathaniel Sokoll-Ward aims to provide access to US residential real estate through an ERC-20 token named USH, promising annual returns of 13% via Home Equity Investments. Unlike previous real estate tokenization efforts that operated within restrictive frameworks, Sokoll-Ward emphasizes a more open, permissionless model that leverages DeFi infrastructure. He plans to extend Manifest’s offerings to other private equity assets, tapping into a significant $35 trillion market. VanEck's Wyatt Lonergan highlighted the potential for this model to create innovative asset structures while learning from past failures in the sector. This funding will help solidify the fund’s operational structure and public offerings, avoiding historical pitfalls in the tokenization space.
