Horizon Blockchain Games is being rebranded as Sequence, with all resources, including the game Skyweaver, now operating under the Sequence brand. This shift signifies a commitment to clarity and aims to unify blockchain ecosystems while empowering developers in the Web3 space. Sequence cofounder Peter Kieltyka stated that the rebranding also marks a pivot away from game development towards enhanced crypto infrastructure development. The company has acquired Light, a crypto tech firm tackling Ethereum's 'chain abstraction' challenge, which aims to streamline user experience across multiple chains by minimizing technical complexities. Shun Kakinoki, the founder of Light, has joined Sequence as head of cross-chain post-acquisition. Sequence already provides infrastructure for major players in the crypto gaming industry and offers various services like in-app payments and an indexer to assist game developers in assessing chain activity. Investors include notable names such as Coinbase, Ubisoft, and others.
