Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, recently revealed that less than 10% of his assets are in Bitcoin, with most of his holdings in Ethereum. He made this comment on X (formerly Twitter) in response to a user suggesting that people in the cryptocurrency space should have a minimum of 10% of their portfolio in Bitcoin. Buterin now primarily invests in ETH, reflecting the evolution of his focus since he began his journey in cryptocurrencies with Bitcoin. Despite recent gains in the price of Ethereum, which increased by over 4% in one day to around $3,403, Ethereum has struggled to regain the heights reached in 2021. Buterin acknowledged the challenges faced by Ethereum, particularly with the rise of Layer 2 solutions which could impact its market capitalization. Nevertheless, he is optimistic and is actively considering solutions to enhance the value of ETH, such as burning gas fees or staking them to fund community initiatives. Additionally, a recent decision by the SEC to allow Bitwise's Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF trade signals growing institutional interest in ETH.
