Ethereum Foundation shifts focus to user experience, layer-1 scaling
The Ethereum Foundation is shifting its focus to enhancing user experience and addressing layer-1 scaling challenges, following a recent leadership change. Co-executive director Tomasz Stańczak noted this strategy is to allow Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin to concentrate more on research and innovation rather than daily operations. Buterin has stepped back and is now more involved in proposing solutions to Ethereum's privacy and performance issues, with recent posts advocating for anonymous transactions to be enabled by default. Stańczak emphasized that the foundation will prioritize near-term goals, including user experience and scaling improvements in upcoming protocol upgrades, while also exploring long-term projects. The focus will be on layer-1 scaling, support for layer-2 solutions, and improving interoperability, especially in the Pectra, Fusaka, and Glamsterdam upgrades, while also promoting discussions around Buterin's innovative proposals.
