Elon Musk Reveals X Money Is Coming in Beta Mode Soon—But Still No Dogecoin
Elon Musk confirmed that X Money, a payments service for X (formerly Twitter), will launch soon in a limited beta phase. This service will permit users to make payments directly through the platform. Musk has aspirations for X to become an 'everything app', akin to a digital wallet where users can manage various transactions. The CEO specified that initially there will be limited access to the service. In January, X announced a collaboration with Visa to facilitate these transactions, allowing users to fund their wallets from bank accounts for peer-to-peer payments. Although there have been speculations about integrating cryptocurrencies due to Musk's previous promotions of Dogecoin, there was no mention of crypto payments in recent announcements. The possibility of future crypto transactions in X Money was hinted but uncertain. Following the announcement, there was a brief spike in Dogecoin's price, though it quickly stabilized. Overall, while the platform is gearing up for its payment service, the absence of immediate cryptocurrency integration remains evident.
