Changpeng Zhao (CZ), co-founder of Binance, has called on Elon Musk to prohibit bots on the X social media platform, which are creating issues with spam, impersonation accounts, and phishing links. In a tweet, CZ stated that while using AI tools to create content is acceptable, automated account posting via APIs should be disabled to combat these problems. Bots are particularly rampant in the crypto sphere, deceiving users with scam messages and fake investment schemes. Although Musk has suggested solutions like requiring credit card registration to deter bot creation, the cryptocurrency community remains frustrated with the persistence of automated bots. These bots often impersonate industry figures and contribute to pump-and-dump schemes, affecting market integrity significantly. A report highlighted that bots manipulated prices through coordinated posts. The challenge of dealing with these automated accounts continues to be a pressing concern for users on the platform.
