Crypto startups no longer welcome in Nvidia’s accelerator program
Nvidia's accelerator program is no longer accepting cryptocurrency startups, as they are now classified as ineligible alongside consulting firms, cloud service providers, resellers, and public companies. Previously, Nvidia supported crypto-related initiatives, like Ubex in 2018, which integrated blockchain with AI for digital advertising. This recent policy change reflects a significant shift in Nvidia's stance towards the crypto space. Nvidia is well-known for its semiconductors that power various technologies, including those for data centers, and its hardware had been popular among cryptocurrency miners. Despite the growing role of AI and crypto in business, Nvidia's current exclusion of crypto companies from its program indicates a cautious approach as they navigate market and regulatory changes. Nvidia is also impacted by US export restrictions, which have affected its sales, particularly in China. The company reported significant revenue losses due to these limitations, emphasizing the challenges it faces in balancing technology development and regulatory compliance.
