Crypto spending will grow, but fiat isn’t going anywhere: Mercuryo CEO
Petr Kozyakov, CEO of Mercuryo, stated in a recent interview that although cryptocurrency payments are gaining popularity, they will not fully replace fiat currency in the near future. Instead, both fiat and crypto will coexist, with consumers choosing the most practical payment option for various situations such as payroll and money transfers. The trend of companies paying employees in cryptocurrency is becoming more common, prompting a need for practical spending solutions for those earnings. Kozyakov emphasized the complexity of spending crypto currently, which involves multiple steps like transferring to exchanges and answering banking inquiries. To simplify this process, Mercuryo has partnered with Ledger to introduce a crypto payment card that allows users to transact where Mastercard is accepted. This initiative aims to enhance crypto's role as a legitimate medium of exchange in daily life.
