Crypto spending will grow, but fiat isn’t going anywhere: Mercuryo CEO
In a recent interview with Cointelegraph, Mercuryo CEO Petr Kozyakov expressed that the future of finance will not see crypto completely replacing fiat currency but will instead witness a coexistence of both asset classes. He noted the rising trend of crypto salaries, with businesses increasingly opting to pay employees in cryptocurrencies, which poses the challenge of practical spending methods for these workers. Kozyakov emphasized the need for seamless ways to spend crypto, highlighting that crypto should be viewed not merely as a speculative asset but as an efficient means of transferring and storing value. He pointed out that while crypto payments are gaining traction, complexities still exist for users trying to spend these digital assets in everyday life. To address these challenges, Mercuryo collaborated with Ledger to launch a crypto payment card, allowing users to spend crypto where MasterCard payments are accepted. Kozyakov believes that such advancements in making crypto accessible for daily transactions will enhance its adoption beyond mere investment.
