Coinbase has appointed four new members to its global advisory council, including Chris LaCivita, co-manager of Donald Trump's recent campaign, and William Dudley, former president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The advisory board also includes Kyrsten Sinema, former Democratic senator from Arizona, who had previously pushed for eliminating taxes on small crypto transactions, and Luis Alberto Moreno, Managing Director at Allen & Co. According to Coinbase Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad, these appointments are part of a strategy to navigate a changing crypto landscape now perceived as entering a new era. Dudley remarked on the necessity of ensuring that Coinbase integrates safely into the financial system, reflecting a shift towards a more crypto-friendly regulatory framework under the Trump administration. This comes after Coinbase faced significant scrutiny during the Biden tenure, especially from the SEC. The company has been working to establish partnerships and promote its vision for the integration of crypto into mainstream finance, highlighted by an earlier deal with BlackRock.
