Consensys, Solana, and Uniswap CEO donated to Trump's $239M inauguration fund
Recent filings from the Federal Election Commission reveal substantial contributions from prominent cryptocurrency firms and their executives to Donald Trump’s inauguration fund following the 2024 election. The donations include over $245,000 from Uniswap CEO Hayden Adams, $1 million from Solana Labs, and $100,000 from Consensys in January 2025, contributing to a total fund of more than $239 million. Other notable contributors were McDonald’s, Apple CEO Tim Cook, and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, along with various companies like Delta Air Lines and ExxonMobil. Since Trump's inauguration on January 20, the SEC, now led by Mark Uyeda, has ceased its investigations and lawsuits involving crypto entities, particularly those who supported Trump's campaign and inauguration. This trend includes dropping probes into Uniswap and Consensys in the months following these donations, highlighting the intersecting interests between political financing and regulatory outcomes.
