Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong announced a significant reduction in unnecessary account freezes, with an 82% decrease, addressing a long-standing issue for users. In a post, he acknowledged that account restrictions had been a major problem for the company, and improving this aspect has become a top priority. Many users had reported long freezes, with some enduring months without access, which caused frustration and led some to leave the platform. Armstrong credited Dor Levi from Coinbase’s product team for driving improvements through enhanced machine learning models and infrastructure investments. Despite the progress, Levi, also a Coinbase user, admitted that the user experience still does not meet his expectations. Armstrong reassured customers that Coinbase would continue complying with legal requirements despite necessary restrictions. The announcement follows a recent breach that exposed details of over 70,000 accounts, further eroding customer trust, but Coinbase remains a leading exchange in the crypto market, with over 100 million users.
