Cboe BZX Exchange has filed on behalf of four asset managers—Canary Capital, WisdomTree, 21Shares, and Bitwise—to launch spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the US this year. The filings, submitted on February 6, initiated a review process by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), currently led by crypto-friendly acting chair Mark Uyeda. The proposed rule change is outlined in the 19b-4 filings. This move comes shortly after Cboe BZX filed for spot Solana ETFs for the same fund managers. The increasing number of proposed crypto-related ETFs indicates a growing interest in cryptocurrency investments among traditional investment firms. Further updates will follow as the situation develops.
