Kristin Smith, the CEO of the US-based Blockchain Association, is set to leave her position to become the president of the newly established Solana Policy Institute on May 19. After over six years with the Blockchain Association, Smith will officially step down on May 16. The announcement did not specify the reasons for her transition or who would succeed her at the Blockchain Association. Smith, who has been with the organization since 2018, previously served as the deputy chief of staff for former Montana Representative Denny Rehberg. Her move aligns with the recent trend of influential figures in the crypto space transitioning to advocate for particular blockchain platforms. The Solana Policy Institute aims to educate US policymakers on matters related to the Solana ecosystem. This transition follows a similar move by DeFi Education Fund CEO Miller Whitehouse-Levine, who will also take a role at the Solana Policy Institute.
