BlackRock has announced a partnership with Anchorage Digital for digital asset custody services, as demand for digital assets from investors rises. BlackRock, the world's largest investment firm with $11.6 trillion in assets under management, has over $47 billion in crypto holdings, including $45.3 billion in Bitcoin and $1.7 billion in Ether. Anchorage Digital will provide not only custody services but also access to staking and settlement for digital assets. This alliance supports BlackRock's BUIDL fund, which is a tokenized fund focusing on real-world assets. Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have seen significant inflows, specifically $36 billion since their launch in January 2024, although 2025 has shown volatile inflow and outflow patterns, with BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF leading with a net inflow of $39 billion.
