BlackRock reports $3B in digital asset inflows during Q1
In the first quarter of 2025, BlackRock, the largest asset manager globally with $11.6 trillion in assets, reported $84 billion in total net inflows, representing a 3% annual growth. Notably, $3 billion, or 2.8% of total ETF inflows, was directed towards digital asset products. Despite this influx, digital assets accounted for only $34 million in base fees, less than 1% of the firm’s long-term revenue, and represented about 0.5% of total assets under management. The significant growth in inflows reflects sustained interest in crypto-backed ETFs, suggesting a steady investor appetite for digital assets. Overall, the Q1 performance also highlighted strong contributions from iShares ETFs and private market investments, with the latter seeing inflows of $9.3 billion. Digital assets, while still a minor part of BlackRock's portfolio, showcase potential growth opportunities in the evolving investment landscape.
