BitoPro crypto exchange hit by $11.5M in suspicious outflows
BitoPro crypto exchange appears to have experienced a security incident on May 8, resulting in the drainage of over $11.5 million worth of cryptocurrency from its hot wallets. Transactions spanning multiple blockchains, including Ethereum, Tron, Solana, and Polygon, directed assets to decentralized exchanges (DEXs) where they were ultimately sold. Blockchain investigator ZachXBT revealed that the exchange has not publicly addressed this incident despite weeks passing since the occurrences. Following the incident, BitoPro underwent a maintenance period on May 9, which was resolved the same day; however, several users reported difficulties in withdrawing their Tether (USDt) funds.
