Bitcoin volatility falls below S&P 500 and Nasdaq in rare shift
Galaxy Digital reports that Bitcoin's volatility has decreased to a level lower than that of the S&P 500 and Nasdaq, highlighting a significant shift in market dynamics amid increased institutional demand for Bitcoin. Over the past ten trading sessions, Bitcoin's realized volatility measured at 43.86, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq's volatility stood at 47.29 and 51.26, respectively. This dip in volatility coincides with Bitcoin's impressive 11% gain in April amidst increasing financial turmoil in traditional markets. Analysts note that even though Bitcoin maintains a high correlation with major indexes, its beta has dropped, indicating a shift in investor perception towards treating it as a long-term asset rather than a speculative one. As the supply of Bitcoin becomes increasingly scarce, there is a growing view of it as a digital store of value, akin to gold. This evolving landscape positions Bitcoin as a key component in investment portfolios amid global economic uncertainties.
