Bitcoin Mining Profitability Fell in April as Network Hashrate Rose
Mining profitability for Bitcoin (BTC) decreased by 6.6% in April, primarily due to a 6.7% increase in the network hashrate, according to a report from investment bank Jefferies. U.S.-listed mining companies produced a total of 3,277 bitcoin during the month, down from 3,534 in March. These companies represented 24.1% of the entire network, slightly lower than 24.8% the previous month. MARA Holdings was the top miner, generating 705 BTC, while CleanSpark followed with 633 BTC. The report indicates that MARA maintained the highest installed hashrate at 57.3 EH/s, with CleanSpark at 42.4 EH/s. Furthermore, IREN reported the highest implied uptime around 97%, with HIVE Digital Technologies at about 96%.
