Bitcoin Miner Bitdeer Boosts BTC Production as Mining Industry Rebounds
Bitcoin miner Bitdeer reported a significant increase in BTC production, minting 196 BTC in May—an 18% rise from April—as the mining industry rebounds from earlier challenges. The surge comes as Bitcoin's price recovered, reaching an all-time high in May. Bitdeer also boosted its hashrate to 13.6 exahash per second, thanks to new mining machinery. Other top miners like CleanSpark and Riot Platforms also reported increased BTC output during the same period. The mining sector faced difficulties earlier this year as competition intensified and Bitcoin prices fell. Miners had to sell more coins than usual to cover costs during this downturn. However, recent price increases have sparked optimism among miners, supporting a gradual recovery in the industry. President Trump has expressed support for expanding Bitcoin mining operations in the U.S., aiming for all future BTC to be mined domestically, despite ongoing competition and high energy demands in the sector.
