Steak ‘n Shake has announced that it will start accepting Bitcoin as payment at all of its locations starting May 16. The announcement was made via the company's social media on May 9, indicating that they aim to provide cryptocurrency payment options to more than 100 million customers. As part of its strategy, the fast food chain has incorporated Bitcoin-themed promotions and marketing initiatives. Accepting Bitcoin is seen as a significant step towards mainstream cryptocurrency adoption, which has seen limited progression in the restaurant sector. Other fast food chains, like Chipotle and Subway, have previously accepted cryptocurrencies, with varying degrees of implementation since 2018.
