Binance, KuCoin, MEXC report service issues due to AWS network interruption
Binance, KuCoin, MEXC, and other exchanges are facing service issues due to a major network interruption caused by Amazon Web Services (AWS). On April 15, AWS reported connectivity problems affecting multiple services, which significantly impacted leading crypto exchanges. Binance was among the first to announce issues with its platform, alerting users about the temporary network disruption affecting order execution. Although some orders were still being processed successfully, users were advised to retry failed transactions. KuCoin and MEXC also reported service disruptions, with MEXC users specifically experiencing irregularities such as abnormal candlestick charts and delayed asset transfers. Despite these issues, MEXC assured users that their assets remained secure. The incident highlights the vulnerability of centralized infrastructure in the crypto space, illustrating the potential cascading effects of relying on a single provider like AWS for critical trading operations. This incident is ongoing, and further updates are anticipated.
