Tigran Gambaryan, Binance's head of financial crime compliance, has departed from the company after a four-year tenure, during which he built a team of professionals to enhance compliance amid increasing regulatory scrutiny. His departure comes shortly after he was detained in Nigeria for eight months due to allegations related to his work at Binance. Following his release, Gambaryan expressed a desire for new challenges in his LinkedIn post, looking for opportunities in either the public or private sectors. He noted the pressing need for experienced operators in technology compliance, indicating his future pursuits will focus on balancing technology with enforcement and compliance standards. Gambaryan's exit is part of a series of leadership changes at Binance, which has seen several executives leave, including following the challenges faced by founder Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao amid legal issues. Gambaryan’s work at Binance was marked by responsiveness to law enforcement requests, totaling over 57,000.
