Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao to advise Kyrgyzstan on blockchain tech
Changpeng Zhao, co-founder of Binance, has agreed to advise the Kyrgyz Republic on blockchain and cryptocurrency regulation to enhance the nation’s governance and economy. Following the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the country's foreign investment agency, Zhao expressed that his advisory role is significant and aims to expand blockchain applications beyond trading. This partnership is expected to bolster the technological infrastructure and train specialists in blockchain technology, virtual asset management, and cybersecurity. Kyrgyzstan's President Sadyr Zhaparov highlighted the cooperation as a crucial step for sustainable economic growth and securing virtual assets. Despite having substantial hydropower resources, much of Kyrgyzstan's potential remains untapped, with only 10% of hydropower developed. Zhao has previously collaborated with other Asian countries, including Malaysia and the UAE, on similar initiatives, as he continues to invest in blockchain technologies and contribute to disaster relief efforts in the region.
