Babylon users unstake $21M in Bitcoin following token airdrop
Over $21 million in Bitcoin was unstaked from the Babylon protocol within 24 hours following its recent token airdrop of 600 million BABY tokens. During this period, 256 Bitcoins were unstaked, incurring transaction fees of 1.35 BTC and using significant blockspace. This move came after the Babylon Foundation announced an airdrop aimed at early adopters, including stakers and developers contributing to its ecosystem. The airdrop consisted of various allocations, with a focus on rewarding Phase 1 stakers and NFT holders. In response to these developments, crypto exchange OKX began listing the BABY token for futures trading. Currently, Babylon holds a total value locked (TVL) of $4.29 billion, making up 80% of the Bitcoin ecosystem's overall TVL.
