Arbitrum Gaming Catalyst hires DAO relations rep after funding clawback proposal
The Arbitrum Gaming Catalyst Program (GCP) aims to enhance gaming on the Arbitrum blockchain but faces scrutiny after a clawback proposal was introduced. This proposal, co-published by DAO member Nathan van der Heyden, highlights the GCP's failure to deliver on its promises and the community's dissatisfaction with transparency and accountability. While some agree the GCP is not providing adequate value for the significant allocation of ARB tokens—$215 million worth that has since decreased by over 76%—others, like council member David Bolger, emphasize the necessity of financial resources to attract game developers. In response to the community's concerns and the request for improved communication, the GCP has hired Castle Labs as a DAO Relations partner. Amidst this turbulence, the GCP has approved few deals and is taking steps to engage better with the DAO. The question remains whether investing heavily in developers, most of whom may not succeed, is strategically sound.
