Apple is reportedly advancing its plans for smart glasses powered by new microchips, with speculation that they will compete with Meta's Ray-Bans. According to a Bloomberg report, the company aims to integrate a specialized processor, codenamed N401, optimized for power efficiency and capable of controlling multiple cameras. The initial model of the smart glasses will feature cameras, microphones, and integrated AI functionalities such as taking photos, recording video, and offering translation services. A notable feature may include the ability to scan the environment and provide information about objects. The mass production is targeted for late 2026 or early 2027, indicating a potential launch within two years. Additionally, Apple is working on dedicated AI server chips, codenamed Baltra, which could enhance its Apple Intelligence platform's performance significantly by 2027.
