Apollo makes a strategic investment into RWA platform Plume
Apollo has made a significant strategic investment into Plume, a platform focused on real-world assets (RWAs). The investment is estimated to be in the seven-figure range, following Plume's $20 million Series A funding announced last year. Plume's co-founder, Teddy Pornprinya, revealed that the mainnet launch is imminent, emphasizing an active partnership with Apollo on multiple initiatives, including ACRED. Plume is distinguishing itself by its focus on the DeFi aspects of RWAs, indicating a move beyond merely holding tokenized assets to actively engaging them within DeFi ecosystems. With 200 projects collaborating with Plume and a successful testnet octet over the summer attracting millions of wallets, the upcoming mainnet launch is highly anticipated. Pornprinya described Apollo as a crypto-native institution willing to innovate within the blockchain space, particularly on the permissionless side of RWAs, highlighting the broader push into expanding liquidity and utility of these assets across the DeFi landscape.
