An Arbitrum-based blockchain is exploring what crypto can do for the entertainment industry
Studio Chain, a new blockchain built on Arbitrum, aims to revolutionize the entertainment sector through cryptocurrency. Developed by Karrat Foundation in collaboration with Arbitrum Foundation, it will use the KARRAT token from AMGI Studios' game, My Pet Hooligan, which has already garnered over 500,000 downloads during its early access phase on the Epic Games Store. This gaming initiative seeks to enhance player-driven experiences and enable true ownership of in-game assets. The Arbitrum Orbit technology allows for the creation of interconnected chains, expanding the ecosystem of chains that can support various gaming projects. Studio Chain's introduction seeks to challenge established gaming networks like Ronin and Immutable, as well as dedicated chains for single games. Despite ambitious visions for blockchain in entertainment, significant mainstream success has yet to be achieved, given that few blockchain projects in film and television have gained traction. The longevity of these blockchain initiatives largely depends on their ability to attract a consistent player base and revenue.
