Altseason ended in 2024: Bitcoin dominance should hit 71% before it returns
The recent altseason in the cryptocurrency market has officially come to an end, according to popular trader and analyst Rekt Capital. He pointed out that historically, Bitcoin's market cap dominance must exceed 70% to ignite a new altseason. Currently, Bitcoin's dominance is at approximately 64.3%, following a significant drop in altcoin values. Rekt Capital indicated that the dominance dipped below 55% in early December, marking the conclusion of the last altseason which ended in 2024. Since then, Bitcoin's dominance has risen by over 6%. He believes that for a real altseason to commence, Bitcoin's dominance must increase by at least 16% to reach 71%. Other analysts have expressed skepticism about Bitcoin's ability to rise much further, citing bearish patterns and suggesting that the market remains in a post-halving Bitcoin euphoria phase, influenced by factors such as ETF buying and strategic Bitcoin reserves. Ether's performance against Bitcoin is also under scrutiny, as it may impact broader altcoin recovery prospects.
