Moroccan police arrested Badiss Mohamed Amide Bajjou, a 24-year-old French-Moroccan man, who is accused of leading a series of kidnappings in France linked to cryptocurrency. This operation was carried out at the request of French authorities, and Bajjou was found with several bladed weapons and mobile phones. French Minister of Justice Gérald Darmanin praised Morocco for the cooperation in apprehending Bajjou, who had an Interpol red notice against him due to ties to other criminal activities. Recent high-profile kidnappings connected to the crypto sector were highlighted, including an attack on the daughter of Pierre Noizat, CEO of Paymium, and the kidnapping of a crypto entrepreneur demanding a ransom of €7 million. To combat these crimes, French law enforcement is implementing measures to protect crypto industry figures and their families, which include emergency police access and home security assessments.
